Pandavapura

Pandavapura is a panchayat town in Mandya district in the Indian state of Karnataka. The name Pandavapura means "Town of Pandavas". Folklore expresses that the Pandavas amid their time of outcast remained here for quite a while, and Kunti, mother of the Pandavas, enjoyed the hillock so much that it ended up one of her most loved frequents. The town is likewise named after the Pandavas on account of their concise remain in this district.

The name "French Rock" goes back to India's Pre-Independence days, the place was utilized as the outdoors ground by the French armed force, which came to help Tippu Sultan in his war against the British. After Indian Independence, these rough slopes called as "Kunti Betta" by local people.
