About Nawada
Nawada is a city and a municipality in Bihar, India. It is also the headquarters of the Nawada district. It is the central station of the subdivision of a similar name, lying on the two sides of the Khuri River otherwise called Sakri stream in a few sections at 24º 53' N and 85º 33' E. The name developed from Nau-wada, which means the new town. Nawada is a piece of the well known old Magadh division of south Bihar. The beginning of the name Nawada is from Sanskrit Nava Avad, which signifies "new town" which was prior known as 'The Eliot Market Bazaar'.
Before its obtaining by the East India Company, Nawada was controlled by the almost autonomous Rajas of Hisua. After its procurement, Nawada was in incredible confusion until 1845, when it turned into the central station of the recently made subdivision. The components of confusion reemerged again amid the Mutiny of 1857, when Nawada was invade by raiding gatherings. The nearby workplaces were devastated, yet Government records were spared by the local authorities who shrouded them in a surrender on a neighboring slope. These are the main accessible open records going back to a period before 1857 in the region.
