Mandleshwar is a town and nagar panchayat in the Khargone district of the India state of Madhya Pradesh. It is on the banks of Narmada River, 8 kilometers 5.0 mi east of Maheshwar and 99 kilometers 62 mi south of Indore. Mandleshwar is 8 kilometers 5.0 mi from Maheshwar, capital of the Holkar states. The eighth-century logician Mandana Misra apparently lived in the town and bantered with Aadya Guru Shankarachaarya at the Gupteshwar Mahadev Temple.
