Lolegaon

A small Lepcha hamlet nestled in the extreme end of a Himalayan Ridge, Lolegaon houses not more than 5000 people. In the heart of the heritage pine forest, it provides the most amazing views of the Himalayan ranges, thus making it a popular tourist spot.

It is located at an altitude of 1675 kilometers from Kalimpong. One must not miss out watching the sunrise and sunset from the Jhandi Dhara. The village is a favourite destination for the wildlife lovers owing to the rich flora and fauna there. The towering old pine trees, cypress and oaks with their mossy trunks adorn the place.

One can have a look at the endangered species like the Black bear and mountain goats. The birdwatchers can watch the numerous colourful birds and butterflies. There are some rare orchids found here.
