Kokernag

Kokernag is a sub-region town and a told territory advisory group in Breng Valley The Golden Crown of Kashmir. The derivation of the word 'Kokernag' is questionable and there are different hypotheses and none has any definitive chronicled evidence. According to one such hypothesis Koker signifies 'fowl' and bother signifies 'serpent'.

The spring spouts out of the base of a thickly lush slope from where it separates into channels, which takes after to the hook foot of a hen, subsequently its name. The other hypothesis is that the word Kokernag begins from Koh Mountain kan from or under bother spring. Kokernag is at the stature of approx. 2,000 m above ocean level. Place is known for gardens, biggest crisp water springs in Kashmir and for its biggest rainbow trout incubation facility in north India.
