Kalyan

The city of Kalyan is located in the Thane district of Maharashtra in the Konkan Division. It is the 7th biggest city in the state and is combined with the neighboring Township, Dombivli to form the Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation..

The city is known to be the exit from the Mumbai to North and South India. Since there was a lot of overcrowding in Mumbai, the city of Kalyan attracted many industrial business set ups. The city is industrially well developed.

Kalyan has been a port for more than 2 millennia. It was eclipsed by the rise of Mumbai, but some historical facts about the city keep the tourism alive. The city was surrounded by a Fort wall, which was constructed in the reign of Shah Jahan.
