About Jaldapara
Jaldapara is one among the popular forests of Dooars. It is best known for the Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary , which was d a sanctuary in 1943 to protect and preserve the myriad of flora and fauna. This sanctuary is located on the foothills of Eastern Himalayas on the banks of River Torsa.
Jaldapara offers a iety of activities to the visitors. One can visit the sanctuary to have a look at the mammals, amphibians, reptiles and birds of many kinds. Apart from the wildlife tourism, you can take a day off for the forest visit and enjoy the elephant safaris as you explore the forest. Jeep safaris are also available. One can explore Madarihat which is the main town near the forest.
The forests offer many sightseeing spots like the Chilapata, which is a favourite tourist destination these days. Khairbari is another small stretch of forest worst visiting. One can visit the Bhutan border town of Phuentsholing only 25 kms away from Jaldapara. Totopara near Jaldapara is suited for ethnic tourism.
