About Harda
Harda is a City and a municipality in Harda district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. Harda is the managerial central station of Harda District. Amid the Mughal time frame, Harda was a mahal in the Handia sarkar. In 1742, Marathas driven by Peshwa Balaji Baji Rao caught the territory, and uprooted the Muslim legislative leader of the Handia sarkar. In this way, Harda supplanted Handia as the most essential town in the territory, as the nearby Maratha amil boss dwelled at Harda.
Harda was a piece of the Scindia's domains. In 1801, Yashwantrao Holkar sacked Harda. Afterward, Harda likewise confronted assaults from the Pindaris and the Korku tribals. In 1817, amid the Third Anglo-Maratha War, Harda turned into the home office of John Malcolm's division. Indeed, even after the Maratha crush ini the war, the Scindias held control of the Harda-Handia tract. The region was surrendered to the British in 1844, yet the cession was finished just in 1860.
The town saw unsettling influences amid the 1857 uprising. The Deputy Magistrate, Maulvi Mazhar-ul-Jamil, helped check the disobedience, and was compensated with a jagir in the Damoh locale. The Harda Nagar Palika was set up on 18 May 1867, and the Harda tehsil was made in 1913. On 18 May 1867 British built up the 'Nagar Palika' in Harda and from 1920 the work was done according to the republic way. The under ground waste in Harda is best case of the British designer. For organization purposes Tahsil Harda was set up in the year 1913.
