Gohana is a city and a municipal council in the Sonipat district of the Indian state of Haryana. Gohana city is arranged in the Sonipat area of Haryana. It is a primary subdivision with a populace of more than 300,000 starting at 2011. It has its own particular region and a voting demographic for Haryana Vidhan Sabha. There is around 86 Villages in Gohana. It is situated in the west of the Sonipat District, 40 km from the town of Sonipat. Prior, it was a piece of Rohtak region.
Gohana is the most seasoned tehsil of Haryana. It was pronounced a tehsil in 1826 by the British, and a few structures which indicate confirmation of that time are as yet remaining in the city: the City police headquarters, Government Boys' Senior Secondary School, Government Girls' Senior Secondary School, and the Jain Senior Secondary School are a few illustrations. "Nagar Palika Gohana" is the administering body of the city. In old occasions, Gohana was known as Gavambhavana and was viewed as a sacrosanct place. Prithviraj Chauhan developed a post here, which was later crushed by Muhammad Ghori in the wake of overcoming Prithviraj in 1192.
