Gadwal

Gadwal is a city and the region Headquarter of Jogulamba Gadwal locale in the Indian province of Telangana. It is found 188 km from the state capital of Hyderabad and is a state get together body electorate. Gadwal generally filled in as the capital of Gadwal Samsthanam, a vassal of the Nizam of Hyderabad. Gadwal was beforehand part of the Raichur area of Hyderabad-Karnataka. Gadwal Fort is a monumental structure around which the old city sprawls.

The fortification houses a few old sanctuaries, the most imperative of which is Sri Chennakesava Swamy. Another notable sanctuary, Jammulamma, is found west to the town. As indicated by The Imperial Gazetteer of India, was once part of Raichur region. It was once administered by Somashekar Ananda Reddy, warmly called "Somanadri", who originated from Pudur town. Gadwal created around a post worked by the Gadwal ruler Somanadri, Gadwal Samsthanam, which was a vassal of the Nizam of Hyderabad. It was ensured by Mallichetti vamshiyulu. The Nagi Reddy, referred to today as Nagappa, was an Ayngarashakulu of Gadwal Samsthanam.
