About Eraniel
Eraniel is a panchayat town in Kanyakumari area in the territory of Tamil Nadu, India. It is of significant business and political significance ever of India, as it was the regular capital of the well-off Venad and later Travancore kingdoms until the seventeenth century, when Padmanabhapuram and Thiruvananthapuram rose to unmistakable quality. Right now it is known for its archeological significance for the vestiges of the bedraggled Eraniel Palace.
Eraniel is a little settlement which sprawls over a region of around 3 km². It is limited in the north by Thalakkulam and in the east by Villukuri.
