About Danapur
Danapur is a cantonment town in Patna District in the province of Bihar, India. Danapur is a classification II Cantonment, built up in 1765. The Board comprises of 14 individuals including 7 chose individuals. Danapur cantonment situated on the edges of Patna is the second most established cantonment in India, after Barrackpur Cantonment, West Bengal. Danapur is the regimental focus of Bihar Regiment BRC. It was before called Bankipore Cantonment. At first, it was set up at Bankipore yet later set up in Danapur areathen known as Dinapore in 1766-67.
It is one of the most seasoned European cantonments in the district. It was the main white cantonment of the East India Company between at one purpose of time. It was the biggest military cantonment in Bengal, with convenience for two batteries of big guns, an European and a local infantry regiment.
