Buria

Buria is a small town and municipal committee situated on the banks of the Western Yamuna Canal approximately 3 kilometres 1.9 mi from the city of Jagadhri and 8 km from Jagadhri railway station. Buri Fort, there is a fortification in Buri, with Rang Mahal joy royal residence utilized by Hamayun when he came here for chasing in Shivalik timberlands, though some relate this Rang Mahal to Birbal, court counselor to the Mughal ruler Akbar. The nearness of Birbal Dwar Birbal Gate in the town demonstrates connection to Birbal.

Amid the British Raj, Buria was caught by the Sikhs in 1760, and turned into the central station of a Jat territory, which before the Treaty of Amritsar 1809 between the British and Maharaja Ranjit singh had been isolated into two chiefships of Buria and Dialgarh. Dispute between the dowagers of the last male holder of Dialgarh prompted its subdivision into the bequests of Jagadhri and Dialgarh which following couple of years went under British assurance.

Jagadhri jagir slipped by in 1829 and went under direct British control. The Rani of Dialgarh was one of the nine boss who were held as free ensured boss. She held her situation until her demise in 1852, after which jagir of Dialgarh likewise slipped by and it went under direct British run the show. Buria appropriate was additionally lessened to the status of a customary jagir in 1849.
