About Bhadravati
Bhadravati is an industrial city and taluk in the Shivamogga District of Karnataka state, India. It is arranged at a separation of around 255 kilometers 158 mi from the state capital Bengaluru and at around 20 kilometers 12 mi from the area central command, Shivamogga. The town is spread over a region of 67.0536 square kilometers 25.8895 sq mi and has a populace of 151,102 according to the statistics held in 2011.
Bhadravati gets its name from the Bhadra River which courses through the city. It was before known as Benkipura or Venkipura, and prior Benki Pattana. Press mineral from the slope station of Kemmannugundi and water from the Bhadra River helped the foundation of an iron factory in 1918 and a paper process in 1936. Hoysalas ruled the city.
