About Museum of Fine Arts, Budapest

The Museum of Fine Arts is a historical museum in Budapest; it was worked in mixed neoclassical style based on plans by Albert Schickedanz and Fülöp Herzog, on the northwestern side of Heroes' Square, inverse to the Art Gallery, in the vicinity of 1900 and 1906.

The historical center's accumulation comprises for the most part of worldwide centerpieces, including more than 120 000 pieces from all times of European craftsmanship by any semblance of Raffaello, El Greco, Toulouse-Lautrec, Chagall, Velázquez, Rembrandt, Tiepolo, Goya, Manet, Monet and Cezanne – to specify yet a couple.

The pieces start from different areas, similar to the Buda Castle or the bequests of respectable families like the Esterhazys and Zichys, and some were gifts from private accumulations.

The exhibition hall is partitioned into six noteworthy accumulations: Egyptian Art, Classical Antiquities, Sculpture, Old Master Paintings, Department of Art after 1800, and Prints and Drawings.
