About Sebnitz
Sebnitz is a large district town in the district Saxon Switzerland Ore Mountains. It is a state-approved resort in East Saxony on the edge of the National Park Saxon Switzerland. Sebnitz is also called city of artificial flowers or city of silk flowers. Sebnitz is a foundation of German farmers from Franconia. The name probably derives from Sebenica. The oldest documentary evidence of the Bach took place in the Oberlausitzer border certificate of 1223 to 1241, in which the ownership of the Kingdom of Bohemia and the diocese of Meissen were fixed.
The center of the market settlement developed between the end of the 12th century and the beginning of the 13th century, the rectangular marketplace of the settlement, which is 1451 for the first time as a small town stetlin is called. Built in the middle of the market in 1714 to 15, the town hall was destroyed by fire in 1854. The adjoining shed like house, the meat banks were destroyed in 1804 by flooding.
