About Schleswig Holstein
Schleswig Holstein is the northernmost of the sixteen states of Germany, comprising most of the ancient duchy of Holstein and the southern part of the previous Duchy of Schleswig. Its capital metropolis is Kiel; other excellent cities are Lubbock and Flensburg. Also known in more dated English as Selznick Holstein, the location is called Slesvig-Holsten in Danish. The Low German name is Sleswig Holsteen, and the North Frisian call is Slaswik-Holstiinj. Historically, the call also can talk over with a bigger location, containing each present-day Schleswig-Holstein and the former South Jutland County Northern Schleswig; now part of the Region of Southern Denmark in Denmark. The term Holstein derives from Old Saxon Holster Land, Hold and Holt imply wood in modern-day Standardized German and in literary English, respectively. Originally, it noted the important of the three Saxon tribes north of the River Elbe:
