Grafenberg

Grafenberg is a Franconian city in the district of Forchheim, in Bavaria, Germany. It is located 16 km southeast of Forchheim and 25 km northeast of Nuremberg. Grafenberg is placed inside the southern part of Little Switzerland. The city is characterised by using a superb range of elevation. A brook, the Kalkach, flows through the metropolis with a steep drop. Grafenberg become first cited inside the year 1172.

From 1333 onward the patrician own family Haller reigned in Grafenberg. In 1371 King Karl IV granted the marketplace municipal law. In 1567 a fireplace destroyed the components of metropolis located back of the walls. In 1778 a flood wave, because of heavy rainfalls, killed six humans. In the Austro-Prussian War among the German Confederation, and Prussia and her allies, the town become the headquarters of the Prussian navy on the time that the ceasefire between Bavaria and Prussia turned into the in 1866.
