About Gorlitz
Gorlitz is a town in the German government province of Saxony. Situated in the locale of Lusatia on the Lusatian Neisse River, it is the second biggest town of Lusatia after Cottbus, and the biggest in Upper Lusatia. Seat of the district of Gorlitz, Germany's easternmost district, its around 56,000 occupants likewise make Gorlitz the 6th biggest town of the Free State of Saxony. It lies inverse the Polish town of Zgorzelec, which was a piece of Gorlitz until 1945. While not Lusatiophone itself, the town lies only east of the Sorbian-talking portions of Lusatia.
From 1815 until 1918, Gorlitz had a place with the Province of Silesia in the Kingdom of Prussia, and later to the Province of Lower Silesia in the Free State of Prussia. It is the biggest town of the previous Province of Lower Silesia that lies west of the Oder-Neisse line and henceforth stays in Germany today. Along these lines it is both the most Silesian town, as far as character, and the biggest in Germany today. The town joins Lusatian and Silesian customs just as German and Sorbian culture. Gorlitz has a rich compositional legacy. Numerous motion picture producers have utilized the different destinations as areas.
