About Deggendorf
Deggendorf is a city in Bavaria, capital of the Deggendorf district. It is placed at the left bank approximately within the center among the Danube towns of Regensburg and Passau. The Danube bureaucracy the metropolis's herbal border closer to the south. Towards the west, north and east the metropolis is surrounded via the foothills of the valuable Bavarian Forest. Near the southwestern rim of the town, the railway bridge crosses the Danube at river kilometer 2286. Directly south of the metropolis Autobahn A3 and A92 shape a crucial crossing. A few miles downstream, east of the district Deggenau, lays the confluence of the River Isar with the Danube.
The earliest lines of settlement inside the region were determined close to the Danube and date again approximately 8,000 years. Both Bronze Age and Celtic generation archeological unearths imply continuous habitation through the millennia. The first written mention of Deggendorf came about in 868, and Henry II, Holy Roman Emperor installed his supremacy over the place in 1002. Deggendorf is first stated as a city in 1212.
