Castell

Castell is a municipality inside the district of Kitzingen in Bavaria in Germany. It was the seat of the Counts of Castell. Today its far part of the municipal affiliation Wiesentheid. It has round 800 inhabitants. Castell turned into first mentioned within the foundation constitution of Megingaudshausen Abbey dated 816. In 1091, a noble named Rupert refers to himself in a record from the Diocese of Wurzburg as de Castello, marking the first use of the call.
