Nantes is a city in Loire-Atlantique on the Loire, 50 km from the Atlantic coast. The city is the 6th biggest in France, with a populace of 303,382 in Nantes and a metropolitan region of almost 950,000 inhabitants. With Saint-Nazaire, a seaport on the Loire estuary, Nantes frames the fundamental north-western French city. It is the managerial seat of the Loire-Atlantique division and the Pays de la Loire region, one of 18 locales of France. Nantes has a place generally and socially to Brittany, a previous duchy and territory, and its oversight from the cutting edge regulatory area of Brittany is questionable.
Nantes is in north-western France, close to the Atlantic Ocean and 342 kilometers south-west of Paris. Bordeaux, the other significant city of western France, is 274 kilometers south. Nantes and Bordeaux share positions at the mouth of an estuary, and Nantes is on the Loire estuary. The city is at a characteristic intersection between the sea in the west, the focal point of France in the east, Brittany in the north and Vendee while in transit to Bordeaux in the south. Nantes has 100 open stops, gardens and squares covering 218 hectares 540 acres. The most seasoned is the Jardin des Plantes, a professional flowerbed made in 1807.
