About Hennebont
Hennebont is a commune inside the Morbihan department within the location of Brittany in north western France. Hennebont is famed for its resistance below Joanna of Flanders the widow of Jean de Montfort to the armies of Philip of Valois and Charles of Blois at the same time as besieged in 1342 at some stage within the War of the Breton Succession. A century earlier than Joan of Arc Jeanne dressed herself in amour and led the resistance to the besiegers. She in my view led an attack at the enemy camp, placing fireplace to it and incomes the nickname Jeanne l. A. Flame.
In August 1944, throughout the Allied invasion of Brittany, a large phase of the antique walled metropolis, mainly the ramparts, towers and medieval homes, sustained fundamental harm in the course of the bombing of German positions entrenched in the downtown vicinity. Hennebont is placed approximately ten miles from the mouth of the River Blavet which divides it into two components the Ville Close, the medieval walled town, and the 17th century Ville Neuve at the left economic organization and the oldest internet website.
