About Thootha Pooram

The merriments are adorned by the customary percussion outfits containing Panchavadyam, Pacharimelam and Pandimelam. Popular for its elephant display, the caparisoned elephants bearing muthukkudas sequined, sparkling umbrellas and venchamarams white whisks make a delightful sight. A genuine visual treat, the fabulous pooram ends up every year with the kaala vela parade of improved themes of bulls.

A shining scene to view, Thootha Pooram marks the finish of the pooram celebration gathering season in the Malabar district of Kerala. Arranged on the banks of the Thootha River, Sree Thootha Bhagavathy sanctuary is one of the principle Bhadra Kali sanctuaries in Malabar.
