About Rishi Panchami
Rishi Panchami is observed on the fifth day of the ShuklaPaksha waxing phase of moon in the Bhadra month On the day, tributes are paid to the Sapta Rishis – the seven sages – Kashyapa, Atri, Bharadhvaja, Vishvamitra, Gauthama, Jamadagni and Vashishta. Rishi Panchami is of great importance to the Nepali Hindu community and in the hilly districts of Northern India. In Nepal, it is the third and final day of Teej festival. Rishi Panchami is also the final day fasting for those who observe three-day HartalikaTeej fasting.
