Panthrandu Vilakku
About Panthrandu Vilakku
The Ochira Parabrahma Temple is one of the famous shrines positioned in Kollam district. Every 12 months the temple celebrates Panthrandu Vilakku from 1-12 days in the Malayalam month of Vrischikam, Mid November.
Ochira Kali is a ritualistic pageant celebrated here. The very air is a palpable mix of fun and frolic on the 2 major days of the pageant for it involves a ridicule warfare between agencies to the sound of drums in a waterlogged field known as padanilam. Next 12 months the Ochira Kali might be held on fifteenth – 16th of June. Erupathettam Onam is also celebrated here.
Unlike other traditional temples, the Ochira Temple situated near the National Highway among Kollam and Alappuzha does now not have a particular structural format, idol or mode of worship. Here, the whole idea of worship revolves around the Parabrahmam or the prevalent cognizance. It is this specialty that makes this temple stand aside from the rest.
