About Moatsu Festival
Moatsu celebration is praised amid the main seven day stretch of May each year by the Ao Tribe of Nagaland. Different ceremonies and customs are performed amid this period. The celebration is seen after the sowing is finished. The celebration time gives the innate individuals a time of movement and diversion after the distressing work of clearing fields, consuming wildernesses and sowing seeds. The Moatsu celebration is set apart by singing tune and move.
The entire celebration is watched just for three days. Sangpangtu, is one of the fundamental festival where a major fire is lit and people decorated with best clothing lounge around it. Ladies serve the wine and meat to the participants. Rice-lager is readied and all the raised pigs and dairy animals are butchered amid the celebration. Ladies weave the conventional pieces of clothing and embellish themselves with customary adornments. Ladies join men in moving, eating, drinking and making warrior melodies.
