About Khordad sal

 

The Birthday of Zarathushtra, one of the most crucial Zoroastrian gala's. Khordad manner perfection and even though the real date of his start can not be accurately identified, the competition of Khordad Sal symbolically celebrates the birthday of Prophet Zarathushtra and falls on the 6th day following NoRuz.

 

Khordad means perfection, and it is commonplace in this day to visit the Fire Temple to provide thanks to Ahura Mazda, the Persian call for the only God, for giving humanity the proper gift of the Prophet Zarathushtra. His followers participate in a jashan or thanksgiving rite; concentrate to stories of his magnificent birth and existence; after which have a good time with a lavish community meal, a drink and a dance.

 

On Khordad Sal Parsis smooth their houses, hold torans of sparkling flowers in the doors, and create designs made of chalk at the flooring. They wear new garments, cook traditional meals, exchange items and salute every different with the greeting: Khordad Sal Mubarak!. Prayers are presented and are observed by means of festive parties to give thanks for and have fun the soul that evinced a philosophy of lifestyles that is both giving and pleasant.
