About Jawaharlal Nehru Cup

The Nehru Cup was a universal affiliation football competition composed by the All India Football Federation AIFF. It was propelled in 1982, however was not held from 1998 to 2006. After the trophy was won by Iraq in 1997, it was restored just in 2007 preceding formally being held toward the end in 2012.

The 2007 Nehru Cup occurred from August 17– 29, 2007 with Syria, Kyrgyzstan, India, Cambodia and Bangladesh when India won their first title in the wake of facilitating it for the most recent few decades.

2009 Nehru Cup occurred in New Delhi from August 19 to August 31, 2009. After the support of Palestine was drop by the AIFF, the competition was changed into a round-robin arrange with five groups playing each other and the best two conflicting in the final. India vanquished Syria by 5-4 on punishments after a 1-1 attract the last on August 31, 2009.

The competition was facilitated in New Delhi, India. An aggregate of 5 groups partook in the competition through being welcomed by the All India Football Federation. The last match occurred amongst India and Cameroon B and India won the match in punishment shoot out 5-4 after the match finished 2-2 following 120 minutes of play.
