About Jamaica Carnival

The Easter time in Jamaica is the time when the famous Jamaica Carnival swings in the cities of the island nation. It takes a full bloom in the centers of Kingston, Ocho Rios and Montego Bay. Also known as Bacchanal. Jamaica Carnival is a true representative of the raw Caribbean flavor and electrifying atmosphere.

Jamaica Carnival is marked by the Reggae pioneered by the late great Bob Marley and calypso bands that almost share the national identity. Going hand in hand is the Soca parties and Soca music that renders the festive quotient to the celebrations and makes it the biggest cultural celebration of Jamaica.

Trinidad's world-famous street party is said to be the most prominent influencing factor of the Jamaica Carnival. Incidentally, there is a lot of Trinidadian soca acts, steel bands and costume designers who takes part in the Jamaica Carnival. Join the street dancing and parade where extravagantly costumed groups of people set the tone right for a freak out celebration of Jamaica Carnival. See the aspiring soca artists from different parts of the island competing for soca supremacy as they fight for the prize money and a chance to perform at a regional level in the Soca Monarch competition.
