About Motta
Motta is a metropolis in North West Ethiopia. Located within the Misraq Gojjam Zone of the Amhara Region, and at the secondary avenue that hyperlinks Dejen with Bahir Dar overlooking the Abay River, this metropolis has a latitude and longitude of 11°5′N 37°52′E with an elevation of 2,487 meters above sea stage. One local landmark is Sebara Deldiy or the Broken Bridge, a stone footbridge built with the aid of overseas stoneworkers throughout the reign of Emperor Fasilides. C.T. Beke became instructed that the vital arch of this bridge become removed on the orders of Ras Fasil as a defensive measure.
Due to the presence of Sebara Deldel, one among best bridges throughout the Abay River until the overdue 19th century, Mota became a chief industrial center, which became defined via at the least one group of European visitors as the most full-size marketplace in Gojjam; it attracted merchants from as a long way away as Begemder, Gondar and Tigray.
