About Chagni
Chagni is a metropolis in North Western Ethiopia. Located inside the Agew Awi Zone of the Amhara Region, this metropolis has a longitude and latitude of 10°57′N 36°30′E and an elevation of 1583 meters above sea level. It is the workplace of Guangua woreda; within the past Chagni changed into the workplace of the Metekel awraja.
The British explorer Charles Beke visited Chagni on its market day, 17 March 1842, and determined the metropolis inhabited in most cases by using Shankalas who are negroes, who fled at his appearance out of fear: first-rate tall muscular guys, armed with spear and knife, hurrying away and hiding themselves many of the timber as I approached.
