You will enter Thingvellir where the Icelandic parliament Aldingi was founded in 930 which makes it the oldest known functioning parliament in the world. The tour continues to the beautiful waterfall Gullfoss and from there towards the geothermal area around the incredible spouting hot springs of Geysir and Strokkur. We proceed to Skalholt church the ancient seat of the Icelandic bishops. On the way back a photo stop by the colourful volcanic crater Kerio is included. From there the route continues through fertile agricultural areas to Hverageroi a small and charming horticultural village. Overnight stay at hotel.

After breakfast proceed for Whale watching Fontana and Northern Light tour Reykjavik Winter whale watching departing from the heart of the city Reykjaviks Old Harbour at 1300 hrs on the big and family friendly Andrea. The Andrea has an interactive and educational focus on-board so you will get a good chance to know more about these amazing animals that live the ocean. Put on an overall on board to keep you warm and dry when searching for the cetacean out on Faxafloi bay. At 1800 hrs you then board a bus from Reykjavik Excursions for the warm and cosy Fontana geothermal baths where you can relax after a day out at sea. After breakfast proceed for Ice cave classic tour Reykjavik We depart early from Reykjavik city and get the crisp morning view of our destination the Langjokull Glacier. Langjokull is 953 sq making it the second largest glacier in the country. Step on board our all new bus fleet equipped with computer tablets in each seat. On the tablets you can use our GPS Sensitive In Bus Audio Guide available in 10 languages. To get to the Ice Cave we ride in a huge specially modified truck. The Ice Tunnel and Cave are man made and located high up in a remote area of the glacier in the very heart of Iceland. Your guide will explain to you how global warming has now started to impact on the glacial environment. Your guide will then take you on an amazing journey deep within the glacier where you can see the stunning blue hued ice. The glacier is in constant motion and here we can literally see that movement first hand. Until very recently what lay beneath the surface of Langjokull was a mystery. Sometimes with vision and determination bold ideas can become a reality. The temperature inside the glacier is usually around zero degrees Celsius or 32 Fahrenheit. Back on the surface we jump aboard the welcome warmth of the glacier truck. We eat lunch at the stunning Hotel H safell and then we continue our tour of the Borgarfjorour valley. We get to see Hraunfossar a beautiful lava waterfall almost a mile long gushing through a wall of lava. Overnight stay at hotel.

After breakfast you will be transferred to airport to board your flight for Akureyri. Arrive Akureyri you will be transferred to your hotel. Day is free at leisure.

After breakfast at hotel . Proceed for Classic Whale Watching Akureyri Search for the incredible Eyjafjord Humpbacks in the longest and most beautiful glacier fjord in Iceland. After early breakfast proceed for Pick up is at 0800 am from your hotel or the Reykjavik meeting point you have chosen. Please note picking everyone up can take up to 30 minutes but you do have to be ready and waiting at 0800 am. We drive towards the slowly rising sun on the way to our first stop, the very unusual Seljalandsfoss waterfall you can actually walk behind the gracefully falling cascade. It is well worth getting a little damp for such an exciting experience. Our next highlight is another waterfall Skogafoss located at the foot of a very famous volcano Eyjafjallajokull. On a clear day you will also get a great view of another volcano mountain glacier Myrdalsjokull. As we continue on we come to Reynisfjara a black beach where some fantastic sights such as the picturesque basalt column formations and the famous Reynisdrangar peaks will greet us. We will drive through the charming small town of Vik on our way to our accommodation. Throughout the entire day you can expect to see breathtaking landscapes consisting of vast lava fields waterfalls black sands and glacier tongues. We will enjoy a relaxing evening if the conditions are right we will hunt for those northern lights. The countryside close to Vatnajokull glacier away from the city lights is perfect for spotting this natural phenomenon. Your hotel will be in the Skaftafell area.

Today you will really get to know the glacier venturing into the sparkling blue white world of an ice cave with a qualified guide and visiting the extraordinary glacier lagoon Jokulsarlon. Getting up close and personal with a vast glacial tongue of the great Vatnajokull glacier does not get any better than this. The renowned Jokulsarlon Ice Lagoon made famous by several blockbuster movies including Batman Begins and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty to name just a couple is a totally mind blowing place. Splendid icebergs of amazing shapes some incredibly large have calved off the receding Breidamerkurjokull glacier. They jostle one another in the huge lagoon before gliding on their surreal and stately journeys to the Atlantic ocean. Many of these natural ice sculptures are washed onto the nearby Diamond Beach you will see them glittering like diamonds as they rest on the dramatic coal blackness of the beach.
