Start your first day of the trip with a Hanoi tour to get to know more about the capital and immerse yourself in the peaceful atmosphere of Hanoi. A typical Hanoi tour will begin with a visit to The temple of literature, Vietnam’s first university, where Vietnam’s royalty, mandarins, and members of the elite studied. The tour will be then continued with One Pillar Pagoda and Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. The pagoda is among the most iconic ones in Vietnam, while the mausoleum is where Ho Chi Minh, the historic father figure of modern Vietnam, is sleeping the sleep of death.

Today we will get picked up and transferred to Ninh Binh by car. Upon arrival, join the full-day excursion into the attractions. On the small boat rowed by the locals, you can admire thousands of magnificent karst mountains. When cruising through the Ngo Dong River, you will have the chance to take many beautiful pictures with peaceful scenery of mountains, rice fields, and temples all along the way. During harvest season, you can see the golden rice carpet along the river banks. The morning tour into Tam Coc ends with a truly Vietnamese lunch served to you by Vietnamese professional chefs. After lunch, there is free time for you to do some optional activities like fishing, visiting local people; particular activities will depend on the itinerary on that day. You will also have free time to hop on a bicycle, go around beautiful villages, enjoy fresh air in the rural area, and discover huge limestone mountains. You are heading to Hoa Lu Ancient Capital – The ancient capital city of Vietnam one thousand years ago. With the guide’s description, you will know more about Vietnamese history. Leave Ninh Binh and go back to Hanoi. Take a bath and rest while waiting for the Lao Cai train. Gather at a hotel in Hanoi at around 21.00 and get transferred to Hanoi train station. Hop on an overnight train trip to Lao Cai in shared sleeping compartments (sharing with other passengers in 2 lower & 2 upper berths per compartment). The train is due to depart at approximately 21.35

The train arrives at Lao Cai Train Station around 5.30 - 6.00. By then, the bus driver will wait for you, pick you up, and transfer you to Sapa. The journey will last for 1 hour. Early check-in upon arrival is possible upon room occupancy (Surcharge applicable). Relax for a while to get ready for our full-day tour. At 9.30, start the Lao Cai trekking tour with our local tour guide. You will respectively trek through Y Linh Ho - a small village nestled along the Muong Hoa River, Lao Cai - a village of Black Hmong people who are known for their significant indigo blue clothing and traces of history: rudimentary houses, stone wall around homes…, and Ta Van - a Zay people’s village.

Have breakfast at the hotel and check out Take a trekking trip down the South-west to visit Cat Cat Village. Relax at the foot of the stunning waterfall and the vestige of a hydroelectric power station that was constructed by the French during the colonial time in Vietnam. At lunch, have a picnic by the river bank to immerse yourself in nature. Continue trekking to Sin Chai village at the foot of Fansipan Mountain - “the Roof of Indochina”, where you enjoy the stunning landscapes of the mountain. After breakfast at the hotel, the driver will wait to pick you up and take you to Halong Bay, listed as a World Heritage of outstanding natural beauty, known in Vietnamese as “Dragon descending to the sea”. When you arrive in Halong, get aboard. The Halong cruise will take you around the bay area, allowing you to admire countless magnificent karst islands, grottoes, and caves. Then, a seafood feast will be served on board for lunch.

An early Tai-chi class in the morning will help you start your 2nd in Halong freshly. After breakfast, the cruise will take you to explore the most stunning caves in the bay, then get back to the main dock for transfer back to Hanoi. Lunch will be served on the way back
