About Guaimaro
Guaimaro is a city and municipality within the southern a part of Camaguey Province in Cuba. It is located between the cities of Camaguey and Las Tunas. Guaimaro functions prominently in Cuban history as the region wherein in 1869, at the start of the Ten Years' War, the Revolutionary Army of Mambises met and created the Guaimaro Constitution for a new nation loose from Spanish colonial oppression. The municipality changed into created in 1943, while it split from Camaguey.
The municipality is split into the barrios of Camaniguan, Elia, Galbis, Guaimaro, Palo Seco, Pilar and Tetuan. Barrio is a Spanish word which means a quarter or neighbourhood. In Spain, several Latin American nations and the Philippines, the term is likewise used formally to indicate a division of a municipality. In 2004, the municipality of Guaimaro had a population of 57,086. With a total vicinity of one,847 km2, it has a population density of 30.9/km2.
