About Cruces
Cruces is a municipality and metropolis in Cienfuegos Province, Cuba. It is the house of the Mal Tiempo National Park which commemorates a struggle within the 1895 War of Independence. The town became based in 1852 in a place called Sabana de Ibarra. The construction of a railway between Cienfugos Province and Villa Clara began in 1848, inflicting an financial increase and the enlargement of the metropolis. The railway reached the city in 1855.
There have been five sugar turbines in the area of Cruces, known by the conventional names San Francisco, Andreita, Santa Catalina, Caracas and Hormiguero. The metropolis is stated for the Battle of Bad Weather, wherein Cuban rebels fought Spanish colonialists all through the Cuban War of Independence. On December 15, 1895, Cuban rebels engaged Spanish troops near the city of Cruces in the sugar fields of the Mal Tiempo sugar mill, setting hearth to the sugarcane fields and charging the Spanish with machetes.
