Cacocum

Cacocum is a municipality and metropolis inside the Holguin Province of Cuba. It is located south of the city of Holguin and east of the Frank País International Airport toward the town of Bayamo on the Carretera Central Highway. The vicinity consists of extraordinarily flat ground stretching south to the municipality's obstacles with Granma Province. Its territory is bounded on the west by Las Tunas Province, and at the east with the Baguanos municipality, its nearest neighbor.

Carretera Central and the Central Railroad pass close to the Cacocum townsite, the maximum populated settlement of this municipality. Two neighborhood sugar turbines, known as Antonio Maceo and Cristino Naranjo constitute Cacocum's main financial interest. A sugar refinery is a refinery which methods raw sugar into white subtle sugar or that approaches sugar beet to refined sugar. In 2004, the municipality of Cacocum had a populace of 42,623. With a total area of 661 km2, it has a population density of 64.5/km2.
