El Gato Del Rio

El Gato del Rio is well known among visitors, it is a three-ton bronze model by the late Colombian craftsman Hernando Tejada, who moved to Cali from Bogota at 14 years old and kicked the bucket there in 1998 — two years after he gave the figure to Cali. It went to the city as a feature of a metropolitan change venture intended to improve the banks of the Cali stream on the city's north side, and after ten years in 2006, the task extended to incorporate 15 littler cats — all cast in a similar shape — which other neighborhood craftsmen thusly painted also.

Nowadays, felines aren't the main ones in the recreation center, however: you'll discover a lot of people and strangely enough, a considerable measure of puppies also.
