About Pinghu
Pinghu is a district level city in the east of Jiaxing's managerial region, in the upper east of Zhejiang Province, circumscribing Shanghai toward the upper east. It sits by the East China Sea and the north shore of Hangzhou Bay. Preceding the Ming Dynasty, Pinghu was a piece of Haiyan County. In 1430 Pinghu County was built up. In 1991 Pinghu turned into a district level city under the organization of the prefecture level city of Jiaxing. Zhapu, the site of a deepwater harbor, was the foremost site of China's outside exchange with Korea and Japan amid the 18th and 19th century.
Zhapu, once in the past romanized as Chapoo or Chapu, is a town in Pinghu County, Jiaxing Prefecture, Zhejiang Province, China. It is situated in the southeastern piece of Pinghu and outskirts Haiyan County to its south and southeast. The town covers a zone of 54.4 square kilometers and has a populace of 54,000. Zhapu is the site of a deepwater harbor on the northern shore of Hangzhou Bay, noted as a port since the Tang.
