About Lishui
Lishui is a prefecture-level city in the southwest of Zhejiang area, People's Republic of China. It fringes Quzhou, Jinhua and Taizhou toward the north, Wenzhou toward the southeast, and the region of Fujian toward the southwest. The name of the city actually signifies "Excellent Water", however the elocution of its first character is "lí", not the standard thing "lì". Lishui has a long history, for amid the Liangzhu culture period 4000 years back, there were clans living in the territory.
In 589, a prefecture called Chuzhou was built up by the Sui Dynasty with Kuocang, Songyang, Linhai, Yongjia, Angu and Lechen districts under its ward. After three years, the prefecture's name was changed to Kuozhou and after that to Yongjia County in 607. The name was changed back to Kuozhou in 621 amid the Tang Dynasty, to Jinyun County in the primary year of the Tianbao time and back to Kuozhou in the main year of Qianyuan.
