Jiaojiang

Jiaojiang District is a district and the seat of the prefecture-level town of Taizhou in Zhejiang Province, China. It is named after the Jiao River. The district has its mainland region of 266.5 km2, and its islands vicinity is 13.6 km2. The total vicinity is 280.1 km2. As of 2003, the population was approximately 471,500. It has a mean annual precipitation of 1,500 mm. Until 1980, the district was below the administration of Huangyan and become called Haimen District. When Haimen changed into upgraded to a county-degree town in 1981, it changed into renamed as Jiaojiang City to keep away from confusion with Haimen in Jiangsu province.

In 1994, the prefecture-degree metropolis of Taizhou turned into installed, and Jiaojiang City became the principle district of Taizhou. City is a big human agreement.
