Haining

Haining is a county-stage city in Zhejiang Province, China, and underneath the jurisdiction of Jiaxing. It is within the south aspect of Yangtze River Delta, and inside the north of Zhejiang. It is 125 km to the southwest of principal Shanghai, and 61.5 km east of Hangzhou, the provincial capital. To its south lies the Qiantang River. The metropolis has a land vicinity of 700.5 km2 and at the 2010 census, had a populace of 806,966 population.

Haining is understood for its leather enterprise and impressive tide in the Qiantang River. In May 1949 Haining County was occupied with the aid of the Communist Army. In June 1949 the county government was relocated to Xiashi Town. In October 1958 Haiyan County turned into merged into Haining. In December 1961 Haiyan County turned into re-established. In November 1986 Haining County become accelerated to Haining City, underneath jurisdiction of Jiaxing.

In history, Yanguan Town had long served as the seat of county government. During Second Sino-Japanese War, the county seat became moved to Yuanhua Town and even outside the county. After the battle, the county authorities was fashioned in Xiashi Town. Haining is famous for its leather-silhouette display,colored lanterns, and tidal bore viewing. Haining started out to be inhabited as early because the New Stone Age a few 6,000 years ago.
