About Nanton
Nanton is a town in southern Alberta, Canada. Nanton was named after Sir Augustus Meredith Nanton of Winnipeg 1860– 1925 who coordinated firms that offered financing for homesteads and farms all through the west. It is found south of Calgary at the intersection of Highway 2 and Highway 533. Nanton was generally known as "Tap Town", subsequent to giving passing drivers free water provided from the lower regions through a stand tap on the northbound roadway.
This water was one of this first to be packaged and sold in Canada, bringing about the formation of Nanton Water and Soda Ltd, still a flourishing business in the town today. Generally a cultivating and farming network, Nanton is currently a prevalent traveler Goal. Nanton is known basically for three unmistakable highlights: a flying gallery - Bomber Command Museum of Canada once in the past known as the Nanton Lancaster Society Museum arranged in the focal point of town on Highway 2 south, adjoining Highway 533; a high number of antique shops; and two completely reestablished grain lifts on northbound Highway 2.
