About Les Escoumins
Les Escoumins is a municipality in La Haute-Cote-Nord Regional County Municipality in the Cote-Nord region of Quebec. It is situated on the north shore of the Saint Lawrence River. Its economy is for the most part dependent on the administration segments, particularly training, wellbeing, and tourism. It is open by means of Route 138; a ship benefit keeps running between Les Escoumins and Trois-Pistoles. The zone is viewed as the support of the Cote-Nord Amerindian, who have lived there for a huge number of years. The Montagnais and Mi'kmaq frequented the place, especially in the spring to assemble berries that secured the stones and decorated the overgrown fields.
The principal Europeans in the territory were the Basques around the 1630s. In 1723, a cross was raised out of appreciation for Our Dame of Bon-Desir, whereafter the place was otherwise called Bon-Desir. That equivalent year the Mission of Saint-Marcellin was established. Be that as it may, the principal lasting European pioneer in Escoumins was Joseph Moreau, a representative of the Hudson's Bay Company, who landed in 1825. It wasn't until 1845 that a genuine town started to shape when numerous families from the South Shore, particularly from Trois-Pistoles, Riviere-Ouelle, Rimouski, and a gathering of Charlevoix settled there.
