Lacombe

Lacombe is a city in Alberta, Canada. It is found around 25 kilometers 16 mi north of Red Deer, the closest real city, and 125 kilometers 78 mi south of Edmonton, the closest metropolitan territory. The city is set in the moving parkland of focal Alberta, between the Rocky Mountains lower regions toward the west, and the compliment Alberta prairie toward the east. Lacombe turned into Alberta's seventeenth city on September 5, 2010.

Lacombe is named after Albert Lacombe 28 February 1827 — 12 December 1916, a French-Canadian Roman Catholic Oblate minister who lived among and proselytized the Cree and Blackfoot First Nations of western Canada. He is presently associated with having handled a peace between the Cree and Blackfoot, arranging development of the Canadian Pacific Railway through Blackfoot region, and anchoring a guarantee from the Blackfoot pioneer Crowfoot to abstain from joining the North-West Rebellion of 1885.

The Lacombe Police Service have policed the network since 1900.
