About Dauphin
Dauphin is a city in Manitoba, Canada, with a populace of 8,457 as of the 2016 Canadian Census, with an extra 2,388 living in the encompassing Rural Municipality of Dauphin, for an aggregate of 10,845 in the RM and City combined. Dauphin is Manitoba's ninth biggest network and fills in as a center to the territory's Parkland Region. The adjacent lake was given the name "Dauphin" by the pioneer Pierre Gaultier de Varennes, sieur de La Vérendrye in 1741 to pay tribute to the beneficiary to the French throne.
Settlers started touching base in the territory in 1883 and two early settlements, Gartmore and "Old Dauphin" were established.
