About Causapscal
Causapscal is a town inside the Canadian province of Quebec, placed in La Matapedia Regional County Municipality. It is placed on the confluence of the Matapedia and Causapscal Rivers, alongside Quebec Route 132, about midway among Mont-Joli and Campbellton, New Brunswick. It is served with the aid of the Causapscal railway station and the Causapscal Airport. Development of the location followed the construction of the Intercolonial Railway inside the 1860s. In 1870, the Parish of Saint-Jacques-le-Majeur changed into installed, and the subsequent 12 months, the post workplace opened.
In 1897, the Parish Municipality of Saint-Jacques-le-Majeur-de-Causapscal was included, named after the parish and the geographic township. In 1928, the village itself separated from the parish municipality and become included as the Village Municipality of Causapscal. In 1957, the parish municipality lost greater territory when the Municipality of Sainte-Marguerite become formed. In 1965, Causapscal won ville status. On December 31, 1997, the Parish Municipality of Saint-Jacques-le-Majeur-de-Causapscal changed into amalgamated into the City of Causapscal.
