About Cap Chat
Cap-Chat is a metropolis in the Canadian province of Quebec, Canada within the Regional County Municipality of Haute-Gaspesie, and within the administrative location of Gaspesie-Iles-de-la-Madeleine. In addition to Cap-Chat itself, the metropolis's territory additionally includes the communities of Cap-Chat-Est, Capucins, and Petit-Fonds.
There are two theories about the starting place of the town's call. One clearly holds that the headland known as Cap-Chat bore a likeness to a cat. The different concept is a piece greater fanciful. According to a local legend, a cat on foot along the shore killed and ate ious animals, whereupon the "cat fairy" accused him of having eaten her offspring. For his punishment, the cat changed into was stone for ever.
It seems maximum possibly, but, that the city's call is a corruption of "Aymar de Chaste", who became New France's lieutenant-fashionable in 1603. Cap-Chat was one of the prime viewing regions for the overall solar eclipse of July 10, 1972. Unfortunately, cloudy skies avoided most observers from viewing the full section of the eclipse. On March 15, 2000, the Municipality of Capucins was amalgamated into the Town of Cap-Chat.
