About Bow Island
Bow Island is a town in Alberta, Canada. It is situated on Highway 3 in southern Alberta, around 100 km 62 mi from the United States outskirt and 320 km 200 mi southeast of Calgary. The people group of Bow Island got its first post-provincial families in 1900. In February 1910, the Village of Bow Island was shaped, and by March 1912 the town was proclaimed the Town of Bow Island. Bow Island is situated between the urban areas of Leth bridge and Medicine Hat. Its closest network is the Hamlet of Burdett. Bow Island is outstanding for its dry palatable bean industry.
The naming of Bow Island conveys numerous accounts to the cutting edge, however the most unmistakable one is that the networks of Grassy Lake, roughly 25 km 16 mi toward the west, and Bow Island had their separate names stirred up. An island named "Bow Island" is found north of Grassy Lake close to the conjunction of the Bow River and the Oldman River, while a low depressional zone named "Lush Lake" is found south of Bow Island. Bow Island was one of the main towns in Alberta to have gaseous petrol wells, and worked them until the point that the establishment was sold to a privately owned business.
