About Barrhead
Barrhead is a town in Alberta, Canada, inside the County of Barrhead No. 11. It is situated along the Paddle River and at the crossing point of Highway 33 Grizzly Trail and Highway 18, roughly 120 km 75 mi northwest of the City of Edmonton. It is situated along the course of the Express Trail, utilized by the North West Company. Initially a First Nations trail that was enlarged by George Simpson and John Rowand to spare the North West Company. The town was named after the Scottish town Barrhead, the origination of one of the offspring of the territory's initial pioneers, James McGuire. Barrhead's authentic winged animal is the immense blue heron.
